We had an enjoyable stay at Chitrakoot Homestay…. Peaceful, warm hospitality and lovely people.

We spent 4 days in Dehradun at Chitrakoot Homestays with Mr. and Mrs. Bhadoni. Their homestay is a warm and stylish accommodation. It has a balance of both the modern and the classic living with a gorgeous setting. If you love nature, this is an ideal location, as there's plenty of walking and nature to see. You get up listening to songs of nature and also can see different kind of birds. Kids n grownups both will love the huge garden, colorful flowers, lots of trees maintained perfectly.

Meals were prompt and hearty. The room was quite spacious and kept neat and organized all the time. It was kept warm and cosy, so that after we came back from day tour it was comfortable for us.

For couples and families this is the best choice. Excellent location, Excellent hospitality, Excellent food, very clean and neat place.

They provide excellent hospitality, as one of their own. They had many homegrown vegetables, and had a relaxed atmosphere, with our host taking out time to sit and chat with us, sharing local information about Dehradun and travel tips around.

If you want a home away from home, off the beat track, this is for you.

Can’t recommend Chitrakoot highly enough. This beautiful heritage home is filled with family and regional history. The owners, the Badoni's, have lived in the house for multiple generations and work hard to keep the house and gardens in meticulous condition. The Badoni's are well-versed in all of the opportunities available to visitors locally to Dehradun and beyond. Dehradun itself is a historic hidden gem, little visited by tourists. Visitors to Chitrakoot will find themselves swept up in an array of local friends and family who pass through the doors of the home daily. They make a visit to Dehradun not just a time see to historic buildings and temples, but a chance to meet the modern face of India, to know families, to learn their long histories in this bustling Himalayan town and to also hear their hopes and aspirations for the future, for their children, their city and their country.

This place is in a quiet location in the heart of Dehradoon, very close to FRI, Garhi Cantonment and famous Doon School. Places like Mussourie, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Jolly grant airport are about an hour’s drive from here. I stayed for two weeks along with my family. The accommodation which is a part of owner’s home with a separate entrance, consists of a living room, bedroom and a walk-in closet. It is clean and comfortable. The attached bathroom is clean with hot water. The home itself has a lot of charm and character with ample outdoor areas and terrace (Mussorie view). Sumptuous Breakfast was served everyday in the dining room along with interesting conversations with the owner, hospitality was excellent.

The owner gave me excellent guidance on everything from booking of transport, trekking in the Himalayas, famous bakeries and confectionery outlets and useful information on Dehradoon, Mussoorie and adjoining areas. I especially enjoyed reading or just soaking in the sun in the well maintained garden blooming with a variety of flowers. Looking forward to staying again at this place soon.
