All these hikes and treks will give you an opportunity to observe interesting history, rural life apart from the fascinating landscapes of Garhwal Himalayas.
Benog Tibba Day Hike – You can undertake this hike from Chitrakoot Homestay itself. A short drive uphill from Dehradoon will take you to Cloud End, Mussoorie, the starting point of the hike. An hour and a half to two hours (depending on your speed) hike uphill will take you to Benog Top which commands a view of Bandarpunch 1 & 2 and Chaukhamba peaks in Garhwal Himalayan range on a clear day.
Nag Tibba - One can do this trek in three/ four days (depending on the preference) ex Dehradoon. This is a very good trek for beginners or those with limited time but still want to experience trekking in Himalayas. Nag Tibba, the highest point in the trek offers a panoramic view of Garhwal Himalayan ranges in Western Himalayas including the highest mountain peak entirely in Indian territory (Nandadevi - 25,643 ft). The highest point you cover in this trek is 9900 ft. This is an easy to moderate trek and anyone with a habit of walking can do this trek.
Dayara Bugyal – This six day’s trek ex Dehradun is one of the most beautiful treks in western Himalayas. Dayara Bugyal a highland meadow in Garhwal Himalayas commands a fascinating view of some of the prominent mountain peaks of Western Himalayas like Jaunli, Srikanth, Bandarpunch, Draupadi Ka Danda I & II etc. One goes up to an altitude of 12300 ft. in this trek. Apart from the scenic beauty, it offers one also gets to see life in rural Garhwal.
